About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Insights Intern with strong SQL and Python skills to contribute to real-world data science projects in container operations. With guidance from the data insights team, you will learn more about the maritime industry and port operations, analyze operational data, and create insightful visualizations using various visualization tools, such as Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize Python scripts for complex data transformation and analysis
• Assist in automating data collection and reporting processes using Python, SQL, or BI tools.
• Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for efficiency improvements in port operations.
• Develop Power BI dashboards and/or reports to visualize real-time port operations, container logistics, and key performance metrics.
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate insights effectively.
• Document code, workflows, and findings for knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python programming, SQL, MS Office suite (esp Excel) and PowerBI.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and frameworks is a plus
• Effective communication skills for collaboration across teams.
• Self-motivated and possess initiative to learn new skills and technologies.
