Planning and Design Intern

As a Port Planning & Design Intern, you will gain hands-on exposure to the planning, design, and development of port and terminal infrastructure projects. You will work closely with our engineers and planners to understand how major maritime facilities are conceptualized, designed, and implemented.

 

Job Description

  • Participate in port infrastructure feasibility studies to assess the technical and operational feasibility of new port developments or terminal upgrades. Learn how site conditions, vessel requirements, and cargo demand shape design considerations.
  • Support the coordination of design activities across various engineering disciplines (civil, structural, marine, mechanical, electrical). Assist in preparing drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Gain proficiency in design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Building Information Modelling (BIM) to produce design concepts and visualizations.
  • Learn about the key regulatory frameworks, codes, and environmental standards that guide port development, including submissions to relevant authorities.
  • Contribute to solving real-world design challenges by analyzing data, reviewing design options, and supporting project teams in planning and execution phases.
  • Work alongside professionals from engineering, environmental, operations, and planning departments to understand how multidisciplinary collaboration drives project success.

 

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Degree in Civil Engineering 
  • Able to commit to a 6-months internship
  • Competent in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience in Structural and Geotechnical Design
  • Knowledge of sustainable design and environmental impact assessment
