PSA is transforming the future of port operations — and optimization is at the heart of it. Join us in shaping the next-generation automated terminals by delivering intelligent, high-performance IT systems that drive real business outcomes.
As part of our Optimization team, you won’t just write code — you’ll design algorithms that move millions of containers more efficiently, make data-driven decisions in real time, and help orchestrate one of the world’s most complex logistical ecosystems.
This is an opportunity to:
- Work directly with experienced operations experts in a high-volume, data-rich environment.
- Apply knowledge engineering and advanced optimization techniques to real-world, high-stakes problems.
- Own the end-to-end process — from problem discovery and model formulation to full system delivery.
What You’ll Do
- Translate operational challenges into optimization, AI, or knowledge-engineering problems using deep understanding of data and system dynamics.
- Formulate and develop optimization models (e.g. scheduling, routing, resource allocation) to improve automation efficiency, turnaround times, and system resilience.
- Design and experiment with heuristic or metaheuristic methods (e.g. MILP, constraint programming, evolutionary algorithms) to solve complex combinatorial problems at scale.
- Identify and evaluate new use cases or opportunities for intelligent decision support across PSA terminals.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful solution deployment and measurable business impact.
- Stay updated on the latest AI/optimization research, and evaluate its applicability to PSA’s ecosystem.
What We’re Looking For
- A degree in Computer Science, Industrial/Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
- Strong analytical and business analysis skills — able to uncover root problems and connect technical solutions to business needs.
- Solid foundation in operations research, optimization, or AI-related techniques; hands-on experience a strong plus.
- Programming proficiency in C++ and Java is a must; experience with Python, OR tools (e.g. CPLEX, Gurobi), or simulation frameworks is a bonus.
- A self-starter with curiosity, resilience, and the drive to see complex projects through.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Only Shortlisted Candidates will be notified.
