Deputy Manager/Manager (Insurance)
We are looking for an experienced insurance professional to lead the management of captive and non-captive insurance programs across our Singapore business units and to provide advisory support for our Southeast Asian portfolio. The successful candidate will be part of a team ensuring adequate coverage for business operations, compliance with local regulations, and effective risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage all captive and non-captive insurance programs, ensuring timely procurement, renewals, and strict adherence to corporate guidelines and control procedures.
• Coordinate with various internal stakeholders to ensure insurance policies align with company risk management strategies and operational needs.
• Lead the tender process for new and renewal insurance policies, including selection, evaluation, and negotiation with brokers and insurers.
• Review and assess insurance policies for appropriate coverage, wordings, terms, and exclusions.
• Manage the operations of the Captive Insurance Company in partnership with the Captive Manager, including but not limited to governance and compliance, financial
performance, and management reporting.
• Oversee the insurance claims process from registration to settlement, ensuring claims are handled promptly and efficiently by the administrative team.
• Engage and communicate with all relevant stakeholders during claims processing to facilitate positive resolution.
• Monitor claims trends and identify loss control issues.
• Prepare and deliver periodic reports on claims status, insurance coverage, and risk metrics to management.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with brokers, loss adjusters, captive managers, insurers, and other insurance partners.
• Support identification, assessment, and mitigation of business risks through insurance and other risk transfer mechanisms.
• Participate in and contribute to corporate projects, risk management initiatives, and continuous improvement activities as assigned.
Requirements
• University degree holder in a relevant discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar insurance or risk management role.
• Strong technical knowledge of insurance, including policy structure, coverage evaluation, and claims management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and influence team members.
• Skilled in managing multiple stakeholders and driving successful project outcomes.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation.
